Continuous Flow, Brown Grease Pre-Treatment Add-on Technology
Propreitary Technology Developed and Marketed by NRC Technologies - Patent Pending NRC Technologies

This add-on technology will allow existing and new biodiesel companies to improve their profitability by accepting low grade feedstocks such as trap grease and brown-grease.  These feedstocks are available at a throwaway price as they cannot be used for animal feeds. These waste resource is available in plenty (1.5 times more quantities than yellow grease or the used cooking oil).  However, as these oils are mixed heavily with water, the ffa (free fatty acids) contents are as high as 80%.  It is almost impossible to make biodiesel from these resources as ffas tend to form soap instead of biodiesel.  This is a patent-pending and novel technology that does acid esterification with the least amount of acid in 1-2 hours.  The unit delivers oils with an FFA of less than 2%, which can be blended with virgin oil or yellow grease to improve the profitability.  A continuous flow, 2 gpm fully functional prototype is available for on-site demonstration for a nominal fee.

Oil Water Separator /Skimmer
Propreitary Technology Developed at LSU AgCenter. Available for licensing through LSU AgCenter.  Technology can be manufactured by NRC Technologies if needed. Patent Pending - LSU AgCenter

This oil/water separator and oil skimmer was developed in response to the BP Oil Spill in 2011.  This novel and unique technology got national attention and was covered by CNN Live from LSU on July 14th, 2010.   The technology also got coverage on several TV channels and newspapers.

Biomass Gasifier
Propreitary and fully Patented Technology Developed at LSU AgCenter. Available for licensing through LSU AgCenter.  Technology can be manufactured by NRC Technologies if needed.

This novel biomass gasifier produces syngas (~20% hydrogen, 20% carbon monoxide, and 3-4% methane), which can be piped for heating or energy production applications.  The special design has a provision to hold a tar-cracking catalyst inside the gasifier.  The resulting gas is almost tar-free and can have several down-stream applicaitons (such as running an engine, turbine, or for producing Fischer Tropsch liquids).  The gasifier can scaled-up and made modular for large-scale applications.
